What's in a name?

The other day I was reading the paper and mentioned that Evil Knievel had died. I was shocked when AJ gave a little cheer. I told him that it was not nice to cheer like that over some ones death and he said, "but Daddy, he was Evil."

Or as Boing-Boing put it "The evolution of Honeycomb cereal's Sugar Bear, from kissable little mascot to insufferable rat-pack prick."

Alex and Zach in 1935?

I found the following picture on a blog I read called "Shorpy - The 100-Year-Old Photo Blog" Here is a link to a larger version of the Photo. There are some amazing photos there and new ones are posted every day.

The younger child could pass for Zach's twin. This could be Alex and Zach if they lived 75 years ago in Arkansas.

I look at photo's like this and hundreds of questions run through my mind. Was life for them as tough as it looks? Were they happy? What became of them? What were their dreams, and their parents dreams for them?

Ugh....First day of work after vacation

Of course there was a minor emergency to deal with right when I walked in. At least the person working on it was able to handle it with almost no involvement on my part (Thanks Mo!!) Vacation was great - great weather, great location, kids were great, Nova Scotia is great, the people were great....if only the ride was there was great. I shouldn't complain because it's a lot easier today when you can keep the kids quiet with a portable DVD player.

Now all I have to do is figure out what to do with the 1200+ photos I too.
